Application
Polypac I-700 has been successfully applied in the treatment of potable water, oily wastewater, secondary clarification, colour removal, paper mill save-all systems, refuse thickening in coal preparation plants, greasy tower treatment and phosphate removal.
Dosage
Best results will be obtained when the product is diluted at least 10:1 prior to use. Diluting the product is beneficial because it will have better distribution into the waste stream with less chance of a localised overdose. In-line dilution with a static mixer is best, but if a holding tank is used for product dilutions, the dilution tank should be used within 2 days.
The addition of Polypac I-700 coagulant to a waste stream consumes alkalinity and the pH may decrease. Best results will be obtained if the system pH is readjusted to 5.0 – 8.0 after the product has been added and given a chance to mix.
Handling
Polypac I-700 has a shelf life of two years in unopened containers. Should the product freeze, allow it to thaw thoroughly and mix well before attempting to feed.
This product is corrosive to both eyes and skin and causes burns. Do not get in eyes on skin or clothing. Wear protective gloves, goggles and protective outer clothing while handling. Avoid breathing vapour. Keep container closed. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after handling.
Cross-linked polyethylene, fiberglass, stainless steel and lined steel are the preferred materials of construction for storage tanks. Avoid natural rubber and Buna-N gaskets as these materials swell when placed in contact with the neat product. Stainless steel, VITON and TEFLON materials are the best choices for pump heads. For feed lines use PVC or reinforced tubing made of TYGON material.
Wear suitable protective gloves and safety goggles.
In case of contact immediately flush with plenty of water. After eye contact seek medical advice.
