Polypac I-495 is a highly effective organic coagulant for water and waste water clarification. It can be used in place of conventional inorganic coagulants to produce low turbidity waters in influent water and effluent wastewater clarifications.
Polypac I-400 is also effective in oily wastewater
Polypac I-495 coagulant is a medium molecular weight, highly charged cationic liquid polymer
Properties
Appearance : viscous amber liquid
Density (kg/m3) : 1160
Viscosity (cps) : 5000
pH : 6.0
These data are to be seen as typical values and should not be considered as specifications.
Application
This application should be continuously metered as a solution, (10%) through a mixer or other device to enable effective coagulation prior to addition of flocculant.
Dosage
Typical addition levels for raw water and industrial wastewater treatment range from 5-100 ppm. Best results are obtained when the product is diluted at least 20:1 prior to use. The dilution should be used within one day.
Polypac I-495 should be stored at temperatures between 4-35°C. Low temperatures may create feeding difficulty due to increased product viscosity. If freezing occurs, the product will regain its effectiveness with a gradual increase in temperature and mild agitation.
The recommended materials for storage and handling are glass, plastic, epoxy or rubber lined stainless steel equipment.
Handling
Wear suitable gloves and safety goggles. In case of contact, immediately flush with plenty of water. After eye contact seek medical advice. In case of spillage floor may become slippery. Sprinkle with industrial floor absorbent or sawdust. Clean up procedure: Scoop up into a suitable container and wash remainder away with plenty of water (large quantities should not be flushed into the sewer). If the floor remains slippery, clean the area with an industrial detergent.
Before use review the Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information.
