Preparation and Dosage
When used as a flocculant or a coagulant aid, typical addition levels range between 0.1-2.5 ppm. Before preparing a solution of Polyfloc A-600, stir the contents of the drum to insure product uniformity on a daily basis. Since solutions can be more viscous than the neat product, a maximum concentration of 0.5% is recommended. To prepare a solution, fill the polymer make-up vessel half full with clean water at a temperature below 40°C. Turn on the mixer and add the appropriate volume of emulsion to the vortex.
Then add the remaining volume of water and agitate for 15-20 minutes.
For best results, the solution should be further diluted inline or in a holding tank. Dilute polymer solutions should be used within 3 days.
Handling
Polyfloc A-600 should be stored where temperature conditions are between 5-35°C. In-house storage is recommended. Avoid freezing and direct sunlight which could degrade the product. Recommended materials for storage and handling are plastic, glass, epoxy lined, or stainless steel equipment.
Polyfloc A-600 will retain its high molecular weight and activity in storage for periods of at least six months.
Polymer spills are very slippery and should be wiped up immediately.
The use of rubber gloves and a face shield is recommended when handling the product.
Before use review the Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information.
