Polyfloc C - 444T

Polyfloc C - 444T flocculant is a medium molecular weight, very high charged cationic, branched emulsion-polymer, recommended for treatment of waste water and sludge.

Properties

Polyfloc C - 444T is highly effective in dewatering industrial and municipal sludges. It is especially recommended in cases where high shear dewatering equipment like centrifuges or belt presses are used.

Appearance

  • white to off-white viscous liquid Bulk viscosity (cps)
  • < 1500 Freeze Point (°C)
  • 0 Residual monomer content
  • < 750 ppm

Preparation and Dosage

When used as a flocculant or a coagulant aid, typical addition levels range between 10-100 ppm. For sludge conditioning, typical treatment levels range from 1-10 kg/MT dry solids. Before preparing a solution of Polyfloc C - 444T, stir the contents of the drum to insure product uniformity.

Since solutions can be more viscous than the neat product, a maximum concentration of 0.5% is recommended.

To prepare a solution, fill the polymer make-up vessel half full with clean water at a temperature below 40°C. Turn on the mixer and slowly add the appropriate vol-ume of neat product to the vortex. Then add the re-maining volume of water and agitate for 20 minutes.

To ensure a continuous supply of polymer solution, a holding tank is recommended in addition to a mix tank.

For best results, the solution should be further diluted inline or in the holding tank. Dilute polymer solutions should be used within 24 hours. Automatic dilution and feed systems are available from Icbina Water Technologies.

Handling

Polyfloc C - 444T should be stored where tempera¬ture conditions are between 5-35°C. In-house storage is recommended.

Avoid freezing and direct sunlight which could degrade the product.

Recommended materials for storage and handling are plastic, glass, epoxy lined, or stainless steel equipment.

Polyfloc C - 444T will retain its high molecular weight and activity in storage for periods of at least six months.

Polymer spills are very slippery and should be wiped up immediately. The use of rubber gloves and a face shield is recommended when handling the product.

Before use review the Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information.
