BioKlen 140

BioKlen 140 microbiocide is a broad spectrum anti-microbial product designed specifically for control of slime-forming bacteria, sulfatereducing bacteria and algae in industrial water systems like air washer systems, recirculating cooling water systems, closed recirculating water systems,  pasteurisers and membrane separation systems . It is effective across a broad pH range, especially at higher pH (<9.5) and has some dispersing capabilities. BioKlen 140 has a good environmental profile.

Properties

•    Broad spectrum activity so very effective against aerobic and anaerobic organisms.
•    Effective against SRB and unaffected by H2S. This results in excellent performance in systems heavily fouled with SRB or where H2S is present.
•    Immiscible with oil and very effective in oil contaminated systems.
•    Functional over a broad pH and temperature range which result in a very flexible biocide not restricted by most system conditions
•    Good environmental profile.

Feeding

The Icbina Water Technologies Membrane Technicians will define the optimum product dosage for any given water quality. In calculating dosage rates, membrane specifications, product capability, operational data and feedwater quality are considered.

For membrane separation systems BioKlen 140 should be applied discontinuously to the feed water prior to the membranes.
The dosage rate depends upon the type of system and the severity of fouling. Typical dosages vary between 30-400 ppm.
The optimum dosage point is into the feed water line, upstream of the high-pressure pumps and ensuring a good mixing with the feedwater.
Corrosion resistant dosing equipment is required. Suitable equipment materials are 316L stainless steel PE and PVC.

Handling

Wear suitable protective gloves and safety goggles. In case of contact immediately flush with water. After eye contact seek medical advice.
Small spills can be flushed with water. Large spills should be collected for disposal.
